What is Lavender oil ?
Lavender Oil is an essential oil produced by distillation of petals of English Lavender flower (Lavandula angustifolia).
It has flowery calming mild aroma which is very soothing and relaxing for mind and body. Thus is generally used in perfumes, soaps and bath salts.

Lavender oil is proved cytotoxic (toxic to cells) and photosensitizing (leading to sunburn when exposed to sun). So do not apply before going out in the sun.
It may irritate skin if used directly or used more than recommended or in high concentration . This is not advisable for people with dry and sensitive skins.
Check for any allergies to it by doing a patch test on small area of skin and look for any reactions.
Stop using it if skin shows any reaction/irritation/redness/swelling/itching.
Please consult your doctor for its usage if your you are pregnant, nursing mother or undergoing any medical treatment
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I love knowing your thoughts.
Have you tried using natural lavender oil for your skin? Did you benefit from it?
